New York's WARN Act Leaves Many Questions Unanswered
Earlier this month, the New York State Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (NY WARN) went into effect as Article 25-A of the New York Labor Law. While the New York Department of Labor published emergency regulations Feb. 18 with the intention of clarifying the scope of employees' rights under the act, employers with a New York presence still face a host of unresolved issues as they struggle to comply with notice obligations greater than those existing under federal law.
